About
Dr. Grace Lee Kim is an award-winning pianist, educator and creator who began learning piano at age four. Six months later, she stepped onto the stage for her first public performance and won her first competition, setting the tone for a lifelong musical journey. Since then, music has been the language she loves and carries with her through every season.
Grace earned her Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Southern California, where she enjoyed teaching undergraduate classes and individual lessons. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder on a full scholarship, graduating as the School of Music’s Outstanding Graduating Senior and serving as the commencement speaker for her class.
Her students have performed on celebrated stages including Carnegie Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, Steinway Gallery, and USC. While she treasures these milestones, she cherishes just as deeply the quiet victories: the moments of joy, grit, perseverance and self-expression that mark each student’s personal growth day by day at the piano.
As a Steinway Education Partner and a recipient of the Steinway Top Teacher Award, Grace teaches all ages and levels, with a special love for beginners discovering the piano for the first time. Her philosophy is simple: She wants every student to enjoy music and find comfort through it— just as she always has.
As a performer, Grace has brought her music to audiences across the United States from coast to coast, as well as to the United Kingdom, Italy, France, South Korea, Mexico, and the Middle East. She embraces a wide musical language: classical repertoire, worship music, pop covers, cinematic soundscapes and her own original compositions.
In this new season of motherhood, Grace’s creativity is shaped by the quiet, tender moments with her baby. Those moments deepen her artistry and inspire much of the authentic, heartfelt storytelling music she shares with others.
